Actor Manisha Koirala was one of the biggest superstars of the 1990s and she recently recalled her only collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan in the 1998 film Dil Se. In a recent interview, Manisha spoke fondly about her relationship with Shah Rukh and shared that she first got to know him when they were both fairly new in the movies.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Manisha shared that she would often hang out with Shah Rukh and his wife Gauri at one of the first apartments in the city, even before he became a star. “Shah Rukh has been my friend since his beginning days. I remember going to his Mount Mary apartment with the whole shebang. There used to be a chatai (mat) on the floor of his flat. We all used to sit on it and chit chat,” she shared.
Manisha further added that King Khan was the first person to advise her to buy her own house in Mumbai. She said, “We all were buddies and very young, although I came to Bombay one or two years earlier to him. But, we bonded a lot. He was the one who advised me to buy a house in Bombay, he was the first person to say that to me. He said that we both have come from outside Bombay and to belong here, we need to have a place. He said, ‘Apnapan aa jayega usme (there would be a familiarity), you will be rooted here’. So, we go long back.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Manisha Koirala was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, which released on Netflix in 2024. The second season of the show is expected to begin filming this year. Shah Rukh is currently working on his next project King, an action-thriller directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
