A THREE-DAY festival will begin in Ayodhya on Saturday to mark the first anniversary of ‘Pran Pratishtha’ (consecration) of Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the event by performing ‘Maha Abhishek’ of Ram Lalla.
Adityanath will address seers and attendees from Angad Tila for the first time within the temple premises. Both Deputy Chief Ministers – Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya – are also expected to attend the event, a statement said on Friday.
Ram Lalla was ceremoniously placed in the temple on January 22 last year. This year, the ‘Pratishtha Dwadashi utsav’ falls on January 11.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has organised a three-day celebration from January 11 to 13 to commemorate the occasion.
The festivities will begin with cultural programmes with performances by music, art, and literature figures.
All types of passes for temple visits have been suspended for three days to manage the large crowd for the event. To ensure large participation, Doordarshan will broadcast the programme live, enabling devotees nationwide to witness the celebrations.
The temple premises are adorned with over 50 quintals of flowers in honour of the first anniversary. VIP Gate No. 11 has been extravagantly decorated, along with other entry points. At the same time, the Municipal Corporation has instructed the installation of lights on trees in preparation for the event and the Mahakumbh.
SSP Rajkaran Nayyar said, “A large police contingent, including women personnel, will be deployed. Security checkpoints at entry gates will facilitate thorough screening.”
